Net Ess 70-58
My experience with 70-058 Networking Essentials
I missed passing the first time I took this test (Sept 3, 1998) by one
question, but between then and now I studied the Sybex Test Success book
and the Microsoft book, and then I found the Braindump Heaven and a hot
practice test on the net, and I was ready...
I took the test at 4:35PM on Sept. 17, 1998, and passed with 1000 out of
1000. I guess I did OK this time. Best advice I can give: read,
study, and CHECK all the braindumps you can, especially from high
scorers. Search the net for practice tests. There is at least one
which will make you really ready. Take every practice test you can, as
long as it is free (or comes with a book). I did not pay for a practice
test, unless you count my first try at the 70-058 as a practice test!!
When you arrive at the test site, have a copy of the best practice test
you can find with you and take it in the car or other quiet place just
before you go in to the real thing. You'd be surprised how it can be
that you feel like you are taking the same test twice! And, you'll be
surprised at how well you do (if you pick the right practice test).
In my two testings, I had (I think) both the "easy" version of the test
and the "hard" version, meaning, the hard one had the dreaded RAS
scenario and a few other tricky ones, but otherwise the tests are not
that different.
Pay attention to details in questions, like words. Did it say "server"
or "client"? Did it say "network adapter card" or "network adapter
redirector"? Things like that.
Lastly, do your braindump as soon as possible after taking the exam. I
waited this long (1/2 day) only because I found that my test version was
so adequately covered in previous braindumps.
Thanks all who have done braindumps and succeeded, and success to all of
you who are just now preparing. You CAN do it!
