Net Ess
70-058

Greetings! - I managed to pass Network Essentials today with a very surprise exam, apparently called an 'adaptive' exam. This means that the questions you get later on are determined by the answers you give earlier.

So off I went expecting 58 Questions in 75 Minutes and a passmark of 793.

(just like all you guys (+ gals) were telling me ...)

BUT! What I actually got was the following:

1 Hour 30 Minutes exam time.

When I chose an answer to a question, I pressed 'NEXT' for the next question.

THERE IS THEN NO WAY OF GOING BACK AND ALTERING THE ANSWER TO ANY PREVIOUS

QUESTIONS.

Therefore you can't 'skip over' the 'scenario' questions as suggested here

and come back to them later ...

You are told you will get between 25 and 35 questions (but you don't know

for sure the exact number).

Apparently, if you get a question wrong early on, then you will get more

questions on the same topic later ...

The instructions also said that the mark you received was not a direct

tally up of how many questions you got right.

This might mean that harder questions may score more points than easy

ones - I don't know for sure ...

I got to question 25 after 65 minutes and pressed 'NEXT' and it said

'Test completed, you have passed!' I was ready for another possible

10 questions in the remaining time, of course!

The pass mark was given as 552, which surprised me - I was expecting it to

be in the 700s

Many questions looked familiar, although there were one or two that seemed

totally new, and one in particular that I felt belonged in NT4 Server and

not in Networking.

Hope this helps,

Good Luck to you all.

Charlie
