first round 60 min, review 10 min, finished after 70 min

using MS Press selfstudy kit, 3 or 4 tests and the braindumps from this side

4 down, 2 to go

generall: in opposite to my last test (TCP/IP) after answering all questions, i've tought i'm near ore over 950 points.

So i've confirm brevious braindumps, don't underestimate this test.

Maybe, to take the test in german instead english was not the best idea.

Another point. Most of the questions covered by braindumps of this side (details follows) and after the first round i've marked only aprox 6 or 7 question unsure, but 9 failed. Maybe some of the results on this side are not correct, or there are some q

My advice: first learn your stuff, and then look at this braindumps to get also the 25 % tricky questions

Following: keyword or short description for every question,

!!please take the questions but don't take the answers as is because of possible mistakes !!

":-)" marks questions, which covered exactly (i think) by braindumps on this side

  1. :-) question with novell: correct answer: wrong frametype
  2. :-) question with copy from token ring to ethernet in 2 min and the other way in 30 sec: correct answer something with greater window-size in token ring or so (sorry, get the correct at the other dumps)
  3. :-) girl named andrea cannot access network, the day before it works: correct answer: network adapter loose
  4. DHCP/SNA/WINS/Router and name resolutino: correct answer: WINS
  5. :-) exhibit, coax, looks like a T and terminated on each side, so there are three terminators: correct answer: correct the terminators
  6. :-) exhibit: bus grounded on each side: correct answer: correct grounding? (unsure: think use only one is correct)
  7. :-) PC, some components, one is SCSI, install network adapter, PC don't start: correct answer: problem with wrong IRQ in combination with SCSI
  8. ... correct answer: protokollanalysator
  9. changing from NetBIOS to another and name resolution no longer works: correct answer: install WINS to enable name resolution again
  10. 56 k WAN connection using SQL-Server is slow (surprise surprise): correct answer: enlarge the 56 k
  11. :-) two PC's configured identical, including MAC-Adress (possible for some adapters by SW): correct answer: reset network adapter setting to manufactoring default
  12. using kat 3 is to slow, increase performance by 50 % and include also 30 % additional PC's, but use the cheapest choice, i've vote kat 5, not sure if enough to get the 50 % and additional 30 %, next choice was "change to light"
  13. :-)
  14. :-)two questions to the advance using NDIS and ODI
  15. :-) what is client/server: worded funny
  16. :-)
  17. :-) two questions WAN and compression: included choices SLIP and PPP: correct answer: PPP
  18. :-) what is an applicationserver
  19. which higher protocoll allows NetBIOS and filesharing, 10 !! choices from ATM over IP to X.25, my choice NetBEUI ? maybe SMB better ?
  20. :-) the funny worded questions what use to define TCP/IP and four choices where only Subnet mask was a wordable choice
  21. what must be unambiguouse, some choices: correct answer: MAC adress
  22. whatfor stands 100BaseT (yes 100), the only wordable choice was UTP 3 I've think, not sure
  23. :-) ... correct answer: security on userlevel
  24. where is it possible to use shares in combination with a password, choose all: choices: Wfw, W95, NT-WKST, NT-SRV, i've voted W95 and Wfw, not sure about Wfw
  25. :-) what insures a correct connection: correct answer: connectionoriented protokoll
  26. :-) whatfor stands 10BaseT, correct answer: UTP
  27. :-) on which layer works router, an additional exhibit shows all layers, so realy easy !!
  28. WAN an every speed: correct answer: frame relay
  29. Netbeui + IPX + decrease traffic, what to use (router, bridge, ...): i've voted bridge

By the way: many questions give you the choice between components like router, bridge, gateway and additionals like brouter, hub, repeater

  30. Connection from netbios to NFX (UNIX) ?? unsure, voted brouter, maybe gateway was the better choice
  31. :-) 7 computer, used only 6 month, cheap, bus, star or ring: correct answer: bus
  32. :-) WAN with reliable connection: correct answer: X.25
  33. 100 MB and cheap: correct answer: KAT 5; another choice light
  34. Backbone and three networks and 1000 m: choices: spread spectrum, kat5, light: i've voted light
  35. Subnetting into two networks and no bridge: voted router (maybe hub ?, i've don't think so)
  36. First floor, new 100 MB network to install at the ceiling, choices UTP, STP, Light...: voted STP
  37. :-) more then 100 MB, choices ATM, T1, ...: correct answer ATM
  38. from DOS and netware connecting to W95 using what: correct answer: NWLink IPX
  39. :-) 3 computers, NetBIOS wasn't a choice: correct answer: NWLink IPX
  40. :-) from PC to host: Gateway
  41. :-) TCP/IP and segmenting, bridge wasn't a choice: router
  42. big szenario including backup and recovery in less than 2 hours and virus detection and backup, and, and, and, ... solution also big: i've voted meets all required and optional, not sure about so much facts
  43. :-) whatfor must NetBIOS name be unique, choose 3 !! out of 4: domain, workgroup, computername, share: my vote: the first three
  44. network is ok, SW is ok, but one PC cannot access Network: choices Transceiver, E/A, Terminator, paketsize: i've voted transceiver
  45. 78 locations, evey with 50 to 100 computers (so summary aprox 5000) using WfW and W95 (no word about NT, huch), employment changing oftly, which security should you use,

choices something like:

no idea what's right, without NT there shouldn't be central nor user possible, so only peer and resource left <- my vote

  1. required: ethernet + token ring + light + broadcast + routing + flowcontrol, choices: hub router repeater gateway: i've voted gateway, router impossible, maybe hub or repeater
  2. :-)
  3. :-) ... two questions with correct answer: network analysator
  4. using TCP/IP, change to allow also NetBIOS Names: correct answer: WINS
  5. check bandwith after new installed NT: i've voted network analysator, think Sysmonitor (not Networkmonitor) wasn't a choice
  6. :-) PC configured with different components, network adapter uses IRQ 3, which component conflicts: correct answer: COM2
  7. cheap solution avoiding data loss in chase of a hard disk error: correct answer: RAID 5, another solution not cheap anough was Duplexing
  8. administering hubs and routers and bridges under NT: correct answer: i think SNMP; other choices SystemMonitor, Protokoll Analysator, ...
  9. :-) 3 cities, solution two T1 connections (AtoB and BtoC) and two 9600k connectinos (also AtoB and BtoC), required 1MB, optionals 1. When one connection goes down still a small connection for administering 2. Wehn one connection goes down still a 1 MB
  10. :-) 3 cities,... (same as before): solution 16 modems every with 28.8k ( 16x28.8k AtoB and same BtoC, 16x28,8 is somethink near 400k) : correct answer: doesnt meet required

thats all, there was aprox 6 big szenarios and 2 small one's
