I wrote the NE exam this morning and passed first time !!(879)
I was really nervous and the time almost caught me, but I made it. Don't spend too much time on the simple questions. Leaving the scenarios for last is really good advice.
The braindumps really helped!
Almost all the questions I got were in the previous braindumps.
The odd questions were:
Network card installed in PC with SCSI HD.Hard drive won't boot.Remove NIC hard drive boots. What is the problem?
-IRQ
-UMB
Your company has 78 locations, 50-100 PC's.High staff turnover. What security mechanism?
- Central user database with user-level resource shares.
- Central user database with password level resource shares.
Can connect to PC using IP address, but not by server name. What is the problem?
- Wins server
TCP/IP network divided into 3 subnet. Can ping PC on different subnet using IP address but not using server name. What is the problem?
- Once again WINS (i think)
Which WAN connection type can go as fast as available bandwith? (something like that)
- I said frame relay (bandwith on demand)
ATM also possible answer.
I also got the thinnet scenario with 3 terminators and the one with 2 grounds (refer to previous braindumps)
Scenarios (I had 6 of these)
3 cities connected with 2 T1 lines and 1 9600k line.Must provide 1Mbps at all times.
Also had 3 cities connected with 3 16-port RAS connections. (28.8 x 8 lines). Same requirements.
Reduce network util by 50% by disabling bridging on BRouters and using TCP/IP and Appletalk only. Same requirement, replace cabling and cards with FDDI.
Another scenario about NT disaster recovery.
NB Watch out for sneaky questions where they replace words like WORKSTATION with SERVER. Concentrate!
Good luck!
(If I can do it, anyone can!)
P.S. I used the Sybex study guide, the MS Assessment exams an demos of other testing products + BeachfrontQuizzer (bah!).
