Subject: Net Essentials 70-58
I just wrote the Net Essentials test and passed with a 914, first
attempt. I spent about four weeks studying, having a fair amount of
network experience. I read the MS Press SSK once through and browsed the exam cram. Once I was confident with the terminology, I took the
Transcenders and thoroughly went over all of the Braindumps; it's damn
near impossible to pass without these.
Most of the questions were covered in the braindumps, but a few
were unfamiliar:
Your company wants to protect the servers from hardware failure, with
periods of 2hrs downtime acceptable.
Implement reasonable controls to protect from data loss.
OPT: Track all access to data
--Protect from viruses.
SOLUTION: UPS, Access control on shared resources, RAID 5, Daily
Backups, Viruscan on PC's, implement auditing.
I wasn't sure because the question says HARDWARE failure, not power
failure, I accepted the two to be similar enough, and said that it met all of the needs. I could be wrong.
A question came up on the RAS modems, but this time there were 28.8
modems only, no T1. I said that it met the 1MBs and was redundant. The
formula that you see in some of these brain dumps is CORRECT.
1 down 5 to go, on to Workstation. Thanks Rob.
