10/14/98

I just took and passed the test! But BEWARE!  The format of the test is totally different from what we've come to expect.

As Scott (10/14/98) mentions in his dump, the old 58-questions-75-minutes is history.   Now, you are given 90 minutes, no longer than 30-35 questions (Scott said no more than 30 minutes, but that must have been a typo on his part).  The first 15 questions were ADAPTIVE, meaning that as you answer correctly, the questions get tougher.  The last 10 questions (for me; I had 25 questions in all but this number is not the same for everyone) are the usual multiple choice/scenario stuff, NOT ADAPTIVE

Out of the first 15, I had about 10 scenarios, none of which I've seen before.   Frankly, I was so flustered at the new format that I can't relate the details of those scenarios.  Sorry.

The test is now graded according to correct answers AND the degree of difficulty.   I have no idea what areas I did well in because you are no longer given the breakdown of categories; i.e. Planning/Implementation, Troubleshooting, etc..   The passing grade, which I beleive also changes according to difficulty, was (for me), 552!

Wow, this blew me away.  Good luck to all. And Thanks to all who have contributed and thanks to the BDH guys for this site!
