Instructions said 25 to 35 questions. My test was 25 questions and I finished in 15 minutes scoring 804 (552 required). Many of the questions were similar to the brain dump questions, but there were some new twists and significant rewording.
No questions on OSI layers.
NIC Interrupt contention question was an exhibit telling you what was installed in the machine and asking what the I/O base address and Interrupt should be using a selection of addresses and Interrupts.
A networking equipment question was an exhibit showing various segments using different topologies and protocols. Said put in the equipment to get all segments to see each other. Showed briges, routers, gateways, etc. Had to place 3 different pieces in the maze. Brain dump questions alone would not have prepared you for this problem, but if you UNDERSTOOD what the equipment does then it was easier(still scary).
Asked twice about share level security using NT (in different ways, but that's what they were getting at). I said no share level even though I saw that there seem to be some tools in the resource kit that allow for this type of share. As NT stands without additional software from the resource kit there is no way, from what I could see, to implement share level security.
Which high level NETWORKING protocol is used to provide file sharing over netbios. Lists 10 options including NETBUI and SMB.
1 or 2 long scenarios very similar to brain dumps.
Which are transport protocols? Lists about eight chooses.
No RAID
No 802.x
Really a strange test, seemed way too short. Don't really know how adaptive works, but assume it could have been worse had my answered deviated.
That's about all.
