Hi People!!
Just passed Net Ess with a score of 692. Not bad but a pass at that!!
This is my 3rd MCP, but my first submission on the dumps, which is a poor show, but I couldn't remember any of the questions from the previous 2. However - better late than never.
Before I commence, I would like to thank all for this glorious site, without it I'm sure most of us wouldn't pass!!
This test is an adaptave one, which I didn't find too different from the standard style questioning. It consists of between 15-25 questions (adaptive) with 10 extra (non-adaptive), but I didn't get to that stage. My test finished after 25 questions. Most of the stuff you need for the exam is covered in the Braindumps and transcenders, so make sure you know these thoroughly. In my endeavours I also cam across another site www.cramsession.com, which has a lot of useful and consoliated info, great for last minuite reading. Check it out!!
I can only remember about half the questions from my exam, but be assured that the info in the dumps and transcenders are extremely good source of info. Also, do the PEP test.
1) 3 lan's not interconnected and 4th Head office lan (also not interconnected across wan). each lan consists of 2 floors, but not interconnetced. All using TCPIP. You require to connect floors, and all offices to head office.Offices are all > 20miles apart
Require: All floors to be linked and offices to be connected to main HQ
Optional: Cheapest solution
and something else??
Propose: Implement T1 link between offices and HQ.
Network floors with 2 hubs etc etc.
Selected Met required and 1 optional due to the cost. (i.e don't need 2 hubs)
2) Drag & Drop question. 2 networks reuuning Netbeui on Lan. Segments are not interconnected but you require to do so ensuring that each computer can communicate with each other on both segments. Also require all computers to work wioth IBM mainframe which is on one of the segments.
I selected - Add gateway between 1 segment and mainframe, and bridge between segments (as netbeui is not routable)
3) 3 offices, all running TCPIP. Need to implement a networking solution to interconnect all offices with a min of 1Mbps tfr rate.
Optional: Need to ensure that Wan is running at least at 1Mbps if 1 link fails.
All communications must still be running if 1 link fails.
I selected - Met the required, but didn't meet either of the optional, as it wouldn't work with only 2 connections (need min3)
4) Which protocol does the following describe? Small, fast non-routable protocol designed for small lans
Netbeui
5)Which Protocol is used for file/print access requests. I selected SMB (Check this)
6)You have a computer in a room in a building which is working on a lan. you move to another office, but not connecting to server. What do you check for. Select 2
cable for floor port /box is connected to hub
cable is connected to NIC.
7) 2 lan segments one is reporting slow network activity. All running TCPIP. You suspect a braodcast storm. What do you do?
a)Down the server
b)Down a router
c)Use a protocol analyser - My answer
8)What protocol would you use for 95 peer - peer network?
Ans NWLink (Ipx/Spx) - Netbeui/TCPIP not an option.
9)95 network with relaxed security. All users can access all files on network. However some reources need p/w protection. What type of security model is this?
ans.share level security.
10)What fault tolerence method would you employ if you did not want to suffer data loss in the event on a HDD crash ar Controller failure.
ans: DIsk Duplexing.
11)What is the chepest networking cabling to use? (or something to this effect!)
ans: UTP
12) What are the benifits of NDIS/ODI
ans:To enable adapters to function independant af a particular protocol.
Unfortunatly, this is all I can remember. But as you can see, most of these questions are in the dumps!!
Things that did not appear!
OSI Model, Wireless comms (IR/Micro/Radio), appletalk, token ring.
Make sure you know your connectivity devices as these appear frequently, and in a variety of situations.
Thats all from me, hope it helps.
