NETWORKING ESSENTIAL 70-058.

Today I passed Net Ess with 782 score. I am quite content with the score as I was expecting not more than 650. True, the exam questions have changed dramatically. Questions from 1 to 15 are standard questions and from 15 to 25 are adaptive. It goes up to 35 if you don’t get the passing score after question 25. I had only 25 questions. The exam was fairly easy and simple. Not many scenarios. I have cleared 4 exams (core), two electives to go. I research this site a lot before I go for any exam. This is, of course, a cool site and a great help. I want to say thousand thanks to all people who are contributing to this site and my special thanks to Robert who is managing this site.

I have never contributed to this site before, this is the first time that I had chance in the exam to write down some questions. So please bare with me.

You will find almost every exam question in the braindump. The questions, I am going to present, have appeared in the exam. I have not seen these questions in any braindump.

Q. Installing a ethernet adapter, connector on the card are Rj45 and AUI. What type of transciever to select?

Choices:

a) Select on board transciever.

b) Select external transciver.****

c) irrelevant

d) irrelevant

(I selected b, but I was not sure about it. Research it!)

Q. What WAN connectivity can provide ANY transmission speed?

    1. T1
    2. ATM
    3. Frame Relay****
    4. X.25

( I selected C because Frame Relay can provide transmission on demand. Not sure, pls research it!)

Q. Network has been upgraded to Fast Ethernet. Connected new computer to the network that is using win95. New computer can not communicate with the network. Investigated and found that win95 is not causing the problem. What is the prob

(choose 2)

    1. Win95 does not support Fast Ethernet
    2. The network adapter in new computer is not configured for Fast Ethernet***
    3. The network adapter in new computer does not support Fast Ethernet ***

(a and d seem irrelevant to me. Please find out.)

Q. How may disks are required to implement stripe set with parity.

( this question you will normally find in NT server exam. But to my surprise it was there..Strange…..)

Q. You are installing NT server. Make sure data is available either the disk fails or the controller fails. Which fault tolerance?

    1. stripe set without parity
    2. disk mirroring
    3. stripe set with parity
    4. disk duplexing ****

(This question also belongs to NT server exam. But it was there in exam. Piss easy.)

Q. Every office in the building has one UTP port. Computer was working fine. When moved to other office in the same building, becomes unable to communicate with the netwrok.What is the problem (choose 2)?

    1. make sure the UTP cable is properly connected to network adapter. ***
    2. Make sure the UTP port on the wall is connected to HUB. ***
