Subject: Nett ess

Hi everyone

Wrote the 70-058 and passed with 912 .... Supprised everyone .... Most of all myself.

Just one quick gripe before I carry on ......

These dumps have been a great source of Information, and have helped target questions for exams. BUT .... When you post a question with an answer, please make sure your answer is correct. Many times I have come across incorrect answers that do nothing but

Otherwise these pages have been a great help !!!

My exam started in the best possible way ..... Blue screen right on the first two questions and then ...... Bang blue screen again on question 3 and 4 just to make sure they had my full attention.

The first two where in the form of large network using about 5 different protocols, hundreds of PC's, Routers etc etc etc ..... (They love to throw huge numbers at you just to get the sweat flowing.) The required was to reduce network utilization by 50% w

I find it a great help just read the solution to write down any information you can remember. So if they mention Brouters make a list of everything you can remeber like : Switch off Bridging to stop Broadcast storms etc etc etc. That way when you look at

(Well it works for me ...... and keeps the sanity under the mounting pressure)

I had the two long questions about connecting three cities. Both of mine used Modems. The one had 9600's in conjunction with T1 lines and the other 8x28800 modems running off a RAS server. Remember that though the 9600 modems will not satisfy the need for

I had the long time favorite long question about setting up a network admin plan that gives you a minimum of 2 hours down time and Data and Virus protection. (One interesting point .... The only way to ensure 100% Virus and File copying protection - REMO

This question is easy ..... they just seem to try to catch people by mentioning Auditing. Auditing is the only way to see who accessed what and when.

Otherwise everything else was short questions ......

Lotsa Routing + Bridging (Watch Bridging on Brouters with regards to Storms)

Had ODI and NDIS though my question worded it in a very odd way .....

Had about two questions about Terminators and cabling ..... They asked about what cable will be needed for 100baseT, CAT5 being the only possible answer.

Question about RIP for routing

The famous question about copying from Ethernet to Token ring, the answer being that Token ring uses larger packets and therefore it takes many Ethernet packets to send one Token ring packet.

All in all its not that bad if you UNDERSTAND ....... though I say that now after loosing about 2 litres of sweat during the exam !!!

Thanks

Neil
