Subject: Networking Essentials, Exam 70-058

Hello!

Only when you sit at the exam you realize the enormous role braindump has played in your preparation. I can't find words to express my gratitude to Robert and all the people who made this site possible. And, like all other people said, I can't imagine anybody who can take the exam without the help of the site. I will be short, because all the questions were covered by all the previous posters.

Study material - Sybex, Transcender (great help!) AND BRAINDUMPS!!! The only question which perplexed me and I have never seen it before:

You have a network with 750 clients and one server. What will you use to have protected shares with minimum amount of administration:

A. peer-to-peer with share-level protection (something like this)

B. User level with passwords for the shared resources

C. User level with permissions (just the ordinary stuff)

D. peer-to-peer with permissions

I never met combo or mixed security like B and D and A could never be a solution with this huge number of computers. I still checked C, although I don't understand how the minimum administration fits in. On a practice test I had a similar question but with only about 30 computers, and clearly they expect you to check peer-to-peer. But here?

The other question which I hesitated a lot was:

You want to connect Ethernet and Token Ring, both networks using IPX/SPX. You want to use IPX adressing to filter traffic. What will you choose:

bridge, router, gateway.

The trick is the IPX adressing (I think) - it is logical adressing and therefore you have to use router. Another guide to this answer was that there was a twin question following. The only difference was that IPX adressing was omitted. Instead the words segments and segmenting were used. Obviously, they expect the answer bridge. Someone pointed earlier that if they use segment,it should be bridge

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!!!!!!
