Took Networking Essentials adaptive test on 12/12/98.  Passed with a 783. Done in 20 minutes. Studied O'Reilly's Core Exams In A Nutshell (very helpful), Sybex NE Study Guide(very complete), Transcenders, and the braindumps.

Questions I remember:

1. Which of the following datalink protocols are used for dial up networking? (Check all that apply)

A. Slip

B. PPP

This is a question I missed.  I picked both.  I looked it up and found that PPP is the only one at the datalink layer with Slip at the physical layer.

2. Had the question with 3 wan sites connected with 2 T1 lines.  Picked satisfies required only.

3. Had a couple of question about Unix.  Just remember that Unix users TCP/IP.

4. Pick the high level protocol used in Netbios file sharing.

Picked SMB, NFS could be the correct answer though.  Could only pick one.

5 .  Name 2 connectionless protocols.  Picked IPX, IP, and UDP.

No drag and drop diagrams.  That's  all I can remember.
