Net Ess 70-58
It's incredible! Two days ago I passed my Networking Essentials exam
(score 913/1000), and today I signed a contract with a new company, with
a serious salary and a huge car. Thank you Bill!
Anyway, about the exam. It isn't that difficult if you know your stuff.
I used the MS book, the Sybex Netessentials Exam Notes book, and the New
Riders book (actually, I downloaded it from the internet during working
hours...).
What is very important is to take as many test exams as possible. You
don't have to buy them, there's enough free ones of them on the Net. The
questions in the real exam are actually very similar to the ones you
find there. Check out the braindumps on this site to find out where they
are.
I also had that shitty scenario with the three modem pools. It's about
time somebody with a 1000/1000 score who had that question gives the
definitive answer. I used the formula which divides by 8 and multiplies
by 100, as it seems to be on some Microsoft Technet CD. But don't take
my word for it.
A confusing question I had was:
What is used in 100Mb Ethernet?
-coax
-IBM type3
-fiber optic
-UTP
I doubted between fiber and UTP (category is not specified!), but
eventually went for the UTP as I feel this is more characteristic for
Ethernet. But I'm not sure.
Everything else you would like to know is either on this site or
somewhere else on the Net, so there's no sense in adding more.
Good Luck
