I just came back from taking the TCP/IP exam and I am happy to report that I passed with a respectable score of 931. Here is what I remember from the power hour:
As soon as I sat down I immediately wrote down the subnet tables. I strongly recommend this. There was probably 10 question on subnetting and all of them were easily answered by reviewing the tables.
Brakedown as follows : 8 scenario questions
10 utility questions (arp, netstat, ipocnfig)
10 WINS Questions (replication partners and resolution)
10 DNS Questions (resolution)
3 SNMP Questions
10 Static IP Questions (hosts, lmhosts)
6 Route Questions (adding and deleting static routes)
This is a ruff estimate of what I encountered. One question that I remember clearly was:
Your Hosts file has an entry "199.210.5.5 braveheart #Mel Gibsons Comp"
Transcender Exams are well worth the money, even if you have to pay for them.
Take a deep breath and remember, this is the career you have chosen.
