Passed the test with a 948 today. This is a good subject to learn, everything is going TCP/IP. After saying that, practice all possible subnetting test questions and learn how to solve them without the helper tables. This will allow you to easily pass the exam and you'll know the material for the real world. Don't however, shy away from writing down the tables before taking the test. Remember, your on a time limit and this test will push that if you not careful. A hint for any test...When getting those long questions that give you a scenario only check the required results first and see if there met. If not the question is always answered "Solution does not meet the required result".

Other topics to know:

You should know what command does what (nbtstat, ping, route, etc…) You should also know how to figure out if a workstation IP address and Gateway are on the same subnet. There will be questions about this. Also, there was more questions involving Unix than I thought there would be (about 5-10). And finally, know your WINS, DNS, hosts and lmhosts files. You need to know in what situation to use them, how there used and troubleshooting them.

Overall the test wasn’t that bad. Just study extra hard for this one and don’t memorize things.

Good Luck and God Bless.
