Hi folks;

I took the TCP/IP exam on 7th Feb and passed. Here are some tips.

1. You should know Wins and Dns (I would say 70 %), In which situation you use wins and which Situation you use Dns.

2. Most questions are situations like when you have windowsnt and Unix system in your office how would implement Wins and Dns or enable wins resolution on Dns.

3. If you have 5 subnets you want to implement wins how many wins server you need? One

4. Same as above situation how many DHCP servers you need in this subnet?

5. Don't spend lot of time learning subnet calculations ( 2 or 3 question ) just know the chart (2^n - 2)

6. Performance monitor; Arp (MAC address to IP address).

7. One question you want to monitor an NT server from a UNIX system? Load SNMP agent on NT server, SNMP management software on the UNIX system.

8. You have 6 subnets, each has 150 Windows NT workstations; 25 UNIX systems; 25 win95 notebooks. You have a DNS server on one subnet and each subnet has a Wins server. How you can do less Administration on the DNS? By enabling wins resolution for DNS.

That's all I could think of

Good night folks
