Subject: MCSE: TCP/IP 4.0 Exam Brain Dump

Greetings,

A good friend of mine just gave me this brain dump for the NT 4.0 TCP/IP Exam.
The TCP/IP test had not too much on hard subnet masking, I thought.

There were some questions that involved subnet masking, but only about 4 of them were hard. There were a lot of questions about WINS, DHCP, DNS integration in situation style questions. Also, I had like 9 questions in a row that all focused on which tool to use when: Network Monitor, Perf Mon, netstat, nbtstat, arp.

The Transcender is much harder than the test. There are questions on the Transcender that ask you to evaluate the solution as "outstanding, adequate, not desirable, doesn't work but looks like it does, and does not work," but the test does not have those kinds of questions on it. I took the Transcenders and got 510, 667, and 667 (the last one was after studying the other two and TechNet again), but I got a 931 on the real test. You can tell that the real thing was much easier; it was just very slow going.
