Just did TCP/IP in London, England today. At one stage I thought I was a goner. They just kept throwing the 3 page senario questions at me! Passed with 809 pass mark 570. 5 down 1 to go. Brain is feeling constipated so I think it's time for a dump. TCP/IP is difficult if you don't study it all well. You just can't wing TCP/IP!
So here are the questions which I haven't seen in the braindumps so far or which caused me the most grief.
1. WKSTN with DNS and WINS enabled. Drag and drop the following in the order that they will be used for name resolution.
a.WINS
b.DNS
c.hosts
d.lmhosts
e.NetBIOS name cache
f.Broadcast
I think it is e a f d c b. Not quite sure since I think it would be different if it was a host or NETBIOS name.
2. Quite a few questions about the default gateway on the remote network when using RAS ( I didn't have a clue, didn't study this bit!) One question was something like: you want to be able to map local server drive while connected to internet via dial up.
a.set client not to use remote gateway
b. add static route to local route table
Look this one up, and the whole RAS gateway thing!
3. Mixed UNIX NT network, something raising the question: DO you need to enable the option Use DNS for NETBIOS name resolution for NT to resolve UNIX box name?
That's all the ol' grey sieve is offering at the mo. After all it is Xmas eve. Bring on the booze! Thanks to everyone who has dumped before!
