Hi everybody:
I just past TCP/IP 725/570 last night and it is more harder than I had thought, a lot of questions out of the braindumps, you should have to know a lot of thing about DHCP, WINS, DNS, RAS & UNIX.
First of all I thank ALL who maintain this wonderful website, Secondly I thank my lassie-Apple who support me spritly.
Follow are the questions which I meet in this exam. Now let's go!
1. One application server IP: 192.168.50.10, another application server IP: 192.168.50.8. Now you want to place both on ONE server, How?
a. install one NIC, and assign 2 IP. *
b. use two NIC, and DHCP, DNS...

6. A computer named wksta1 on subnet A cannot connect to a windows NT server computer on subnet B by running the command net use f:\\factory.bytecomp.com\data. When other computers on subnet A can that command and connect server. Wksta1 can ping the server by IP address.

10. Using Windows NT Explorer, a Windows NT Workstation computer cannot connect to a Windows NT Server computer installed on a different subnet. All other computer can connect to this server. When you run Network Monitor, you noticed that each time the workstation attempts to connect to the sever, the workstation broadcast an ARP request for the server's IP address. What is the most likely cause of the problem?
The workstation is configured with an invalid subnet mask. Coz it broadcast an ARP request means that it think the server is on the same subnet.
11. Had a word problem that went something like this: You are adding a new RAS server with 2 modems to your network to allow 2 RAS clients to access the network while traveling. Your network has 40 workstations and 3 servers Inernet access is through a single router acting as a gateway.
Required Result: Your RAS clients must be able to access all machines on your networks via secure data link, have internet access and no one else can get in.
SOLUTION: Create a pool of 2 IPs to be available to your clients, set the clients to allow server to select IP's. Use microsoft data encryption, on the clients and the server, configure WINS on the clients
I selected does not meet minimum requirements. Even if the encryption requirements were met, the clients needed to be configured for DHCP or excluded in the DHCP scopes. Opinions are encouraged to be posted.
