Test Name: TCPIP (70-059)

Passed with a 754, not as good as I hoped, but here is what I

remembered.

Subnetting: 1 question, where another screen popped up and you had to

drag the proper subnet to the proper area, given an IP address and the

number of subnets desired (there were 2 class a, 2 b, and 2 c)

4-5 scenario. One asked about reducing netbios broadcasts by using the

hosts file (if you remember your netbios resolution order, you will know

that this does NOT work because it broadcasts before it references

hosts)

1 ras question: If the ras dials up to the ISP, what should be used as

the default gateway on the clients or RAS server (study, I am not sure I

got this one right)

One question about if you need to have your machines log onto the domain

and they don't have a PDC or BDC on that subnet, what do you do? It

said something about LMHOSTS on each machine, and putting LMHOSTS on the

Master or Backup browser (not sure if this would work or not). I would

look this one up.

Printing: A drag and drop where you had the choices between: LPD, LPR,

LPQ, and TCP/IP printing services, where you have to drop one of those

on the machines/printers. Know when you need which service.

DNS questions: you have 2 DNS servers, and you want to install a third

to do internet lookups, do you install it as: a primary, secondary,

forwarding for dns, or forwarding for wins?

That's all the ones I remember. I studied using TCPIP for dummies

(hahaha, I know) and some transcender.
