Hi people!
Here is my little BrainDump for TCP/IP exam 70-059
Required score: 750
Time: 90 minutes
I just passed TCP/IP for NT4 yesterday afternoon with a mark of 896 (cool!!!).
Thanks to Braindumps, MOC book and the GREAT Transcender exams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I worked hard and used Transcender test version 4.0. With this test, you cannot fail if you understand all. Everything is similar. I got 18 question exactly like the Transcender exams!
I also used the PEP test and VFX EndavorX. The VFX test was very realistic, the PEP questions were nothing like the exam.
There were several questions about subneting, but they were not too difficult.
I had 2 scenarios, the first about 2 questions, and other about 4 questions. But I met both of them conceptual similarly in Transcender exams.
8 questions about: Performance Monitor, Network Monitor, Tracert, Route, Arp, Netstat, Nbtstat, Ipconfig, …
but anyone about options (-r, -a, -R, -n, …) and so you have only to know the right functions about the commands.
There was only one difficult question about static routing tables. It was tough because the exhibit was large and the question was verbose. I had to draw the example on the scratch pad and then refer to the question.
Absolutely you know DHCP relay, DHCP, Wins, Wins Replication, DNS.
There was one question about using a Win NT server to connect to the Internet. What should the default gateway be if clients are using the ras server to access the internet.
Be careful about your known on FTP command and troubleshooting… I got 3 questions about it.
These were some questions I remember:
One about Wins Pull and Push configurations, it was not too hard!
You want to capture TCP/IP packets and to save them for viewing the statistique later. What do you use.
a - Performance Monitor
b - Network Monitor
c - xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
d - xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You have a workstation W1 and on it you cannot use NET USE f:\\factory.bytecomp.data. You can ping to factory. Other don’t have any problems to connect factory.
What’s the problem?
a - factory is not on DNS database
b - W1 has not an IP address about DSN server
c - W1 has not an IP address about WINS server
d - W1 is not configured to use DNS about NETBIOS Name Resolution
You have a Micosoft-base client. On your network there is a WINS server. Your client also use an LMHOSTS file with these entrances:
187.134.34.1 DEVELOP
You can ping 187.134.15.9, but you don’t use to connect \\products\netapps
What’s the problem?
I also suggest to visit :
Obviously: http://www.saluki.com (about messages board), http://www.dc.net/wtalbert/tcpip4/7059.html for Talber BrainDums (cool…cool…), http://www.mcpmag.com/members/97mayjun/oe1main.asp and if you want the method to write down the 4 tables in around 5 minutes, without calculator, it could help you. With these tables you don't need calculator and you save time and stress. I saw the braindump of Laurence in this braindump very useful.
Good luck.
(sorry for my english)
