Dear dumpsters,

I passed Tcp/ip test which was adaptive and very hard. The passing score

was 570 and I got 791. There were more questions on Ras and Tcp/Ip

interaction than any other area.Make sure you read white papers on ras

from microsoft technet. Specially, the section on how to use ras server

as an internet gateway for your LAN. Transcenders was helpfull but not

to the extent that I expected. I didn' get any questions on calculating

subnets, hosts, subnet mask etc. One of the questions on Ras asked how

do you allow two users to dial into your Ras server concurrently and

assign them ip addresses from a dhcp server, how do you allow them to

connect to the internet and browse the local lan resources. In other

words, you must know how to intergrate ras, dhcp, wins and dns together.

THE ABOVE QUESTION DID NOT MENTION WINS SERVER AS A GLOBAL OPTION UNDER

DHCP OPTIONS AND THE NETWORK CONTAINED MULTIPLE SUBNETS. AS YOU MAY KNOW

EITHER THE RAS CLIENTS SHOULD HAVE A LMHOSTS FILE OR THE DHCP SERVER

SHOULD ASSIGN A WINS SERVER FOR RAS CLIENTS TO BROWSE THE NETWORK. Learn

the difference between name resolution and network browsing. By the way

know your PPTP. I got a whole bunch of scenario questions and one of

them was how to implement push and pull partners. Therefore, learn your

push and pull situation questions very well.
