http://www.LearnQuick.ComHi Everybody,
On 3/12/1998 I took the Adaptive TCP/IP exam and after 25 questions, I passed with a score of 708. This was my first Adaptive exam, so believe me, I was very nervoused!! Personally I think the Adaptive exam is not that bad!! I expected it much harder.
I don't know whether I'm right or wrong, but I got the feeling that the questions you had to answer before the axcual test begin, are playing a role in the degree of difficulty of the exam. I read through many dumps and it was clear that some persons got really hard questions. I only, and believe me, received just one simulation question! The rest were the traditional questions and about four scenario questions.
It is also true that Microsoft claims a signature from you that you will not disclose any part of the exam. So, I believe that if they catch you out, you're "minus" MCSE. However, I feel that I must also give my input like others did before me.
Please note that the questions here are not worded the same as in the real exam!!
Now for some stuff:
1. From your NT workstation you can connect to a remote server by specifying the it's UNC path in Windows explorer, but when you try to connect through ftp 199.34.23.100, you can't. What is the problem?
A) The NT workstation is denied access to the FTP server's directories
2. You wants to copy a large file from a UNIX machine to your NT workstation. What will you use?
A) ftp
B) tftp
(RCP was also a choice. You can also use that. So, I'm not to sure about my choices)
3.Your network consist of 7 subnets. One subnet have a PDC and the rest each a BDC or a server. You want all clients to be able to connect to all servers on the network, but you don't want broadcast. How will you configure the network for best performance?
A) I guesed this one and choose: " Install a WINS server"
4. You have 2 DNS servers on your network and want to install a third one to resolve IP adresses for hosts on the Internet. How will you setup the third server?
A) Forwarder (I'm also not too sure about this one)
5. There was the question about a NT workstation which could not connect to a NT server on another subnet. You run Network Monitor and noticed that each time the workstation attempts to connect it broadcast an ARP request for the server's IP sddress. What is the problem?
A) The workstation is configured with an invalid subnet mask.
6. You have a RAS connection over the Internet. What will you use to do encryption?
A) PPTP
MSCHAP
7. On one of your NT server computers that is configured as a DNS server you want to add a resource record that identifies the mail server for your domain. What type of record must you add?
A) MX record
8. You administer a TCP/IP network that comprised of 7 domains. The domains is devided into 6 subnets and you wants every Windows-based computer to be able to browse al the computers in every domain. Which entries must be included in the LMHOSTS file on each windows-based computers?
A) One entry for the PDC in each remote domain One entry for each domain controller in the local domain.
9. I had a question that asked me something about how to prevent that your buffers become full
A) Some of the options were "Set trigger", "Set filter", but my choise was "Save all the info to one file"
10. Your network have 6 subnets. Each has 150 NT workstations, 25 Unix machines, 25 Win95 notebooks. You have a DNS server on one subnet and each subnet has a WINS server. What can you do to do less administration on the DNS server to resolve NetBios names into IP adresses?
A) Enable WINS resolution for DNS
11. You want to configure a DNS server to use a DNS root server on the Internet to resolve DNS queries for names that are not in your DNS domain. How should you do this?
A) By using the Cache file that was installed by default on the DNS server.
12. The only simulation question I had was a "drag-and-drop" question. You have a network with some Unix computers/Servers with a certain range of IP addresses. They also give you the subnet mask address. (Please write down everything important). You also get some information about your network. At the next screen they give you a few IP adresses, subnet mask addresses and you have to drag them to where they belong. That was the only time I had to make some calculations. (Sorry, but I don't remember the question very well)
13. I had a couple of questions on NETSTAT, NTBSTAT, PERFMON, NETMON. Know what they are used for.
14. You have a NT computer and want to print to a Unix machine. What would you use?
A) LPR
15. No questions on "Route Add"
Sorry, but this is all I can remember!!
