Subject: TCP/IP Braindump
TCP/IP for NT 4.0 Braindump

Here is the necessary info for the test

Test #: 70-059
Questions: 58
Time: 90 min.
Score: 750 to pass

I just wrote the TCP/IP 4.0 test today, and passed. I thought that it was one of the toughest tests that I have taken thus far. I read all the braindumps on this site, and many of the braindumpers, said that time was a factor. I didn't think that it was that bad. I took my time, and I watched the clock to make sure that I wasn't wasting time. I finished with 12 min. to spare, and only changed one answer.

Here are some tips to prepare you for the exam.

  1. Read the other braindumps. They are packed with info and tips from other people who took the test. Remember, Microsoft mixes a lot of questions. If you see that many dumps tell you to study something, and other dumps tell you the same thing. Then note that there is a good chance that it may be on the test.
  2. The subnetting table is great. You can find it on other braindumps here. Memorize it and write it down before taking the exam. I only got 3 questions, that really didn't take use of the chart as I was hoping for, but you may get a different test.
  3. know DNS, WINS, and DHCP integration like that back of your hand. There are questions about each of these used separately, but those are easy. It's the questions that have a mix of the three that are real hard.
  4. know the TCP/IP utilities very well also. There was about 10 to 12 questions on my test that asked me the "what would you use" questions. You don't need to know the switches (a lot of people told other)
  5. know about MX and CNAME and what they do pertaining to DNS records.
  6. know printing from an NT box to a UNIX printer. I got 2 to 4 questions on that.
  7. know PPTP and how it works. Also PPTP filtering.
  8. know WINS replication.
  9. know when you should use Performance Monitor, or Network Monitor. 2 to 4 questions on that.
  10. know how to read the ipconfig utility to determine why someone cannot access a remote address.

That is all I can remember right now. I used the MOC book, Transcender v1.0, and Transcender v4.0 demo, and braindumps to prepare for this test. There may be better books out there, but I was able to pass with the above material. On my test between 70 and 80 percent of the test was on DHCP, DNS, and WINS. So if you know those well, and read braindumps. Then you should do well.

5 down, 2 to go.
