Please include: Test Name: Internetworking with MS TCP/IP on Windows NT 4.0 Test # 70-059

First my sincere thanks to Braindump organisers and the people who had   contributed. Wish you all a very happy new year 1999 !!

I had taken TCP/IP and it went through like a breeze. my score was 700 out of 1000. (6th jan '99)  I took this in India. Here are my inputs regarding the exam. I had no questions on subnetting. but my friend who took the exam on one day prior had subnetting. So, all be prepared.

I had almost 12 to 13 questions on DHCP (maybe bcoz i had clicked DHCP server as one of the server in my organisation in the initial question session. be careful in giving your input at this pre exam question session. My opinion is Be Modest.

1. You wish to use Mail server and configure your Domain name server for   that(something similar),

Answer is MX Record.

2. You are using a FTP server and wish to track all the current sessions at a given point of time? how do you do?

a) Start FTP session and use Netstat utility (my answer)

b) Start FTP session and use nbtstat

c) Use ARP

3. You could ping ftp.server.com and could not connect to that with  using net use x://sharename of the same server. Rest of PCs at your network are able to reach. Everybody Why?

a) Wins not enabled at your workstation.(my answer)

b) Enable DNS at your pc

3) Install DHCP with to resolve names

4. Two questions on RAS

You have 20 remote users who connect to your coporate network for accessing a client server application on the server, with their laptops through internet. you have configured your server for RAS.  How would you implement a better security and provide data encryption for the RAS connection.  My answer is Implement PPTP(point to point tunneling protocol)

5. one more on RAS.

Your RAS is configured for your remote users. according the exibit. with DNS and Wins configurations.  when you see the exhibit, it shows the IP screen of DHCP Scope options on RAS. There is a scope for which he is allocated IP ranging from 129.19.5.10 - to - 129.19.5.29. The exclusion range is configured for 129.19.5.19 - to - 129.19.5.22.

Now, the questions is that, How many users could connect to your network through this setting of RAS to your network, at a single time.

a) 20

b) 15

c) 16

d) 0

My answer is 16 clients could connect at a single time coz, considering that the ras could lease 20 IPs and excluding 4 IPs you get 16 IP address.

(Well, some standard questions were there on client reservation, network monitor and SNMP and other things.)

Hope this helps you. As everybody says, know your stuff and use Braindump for referring and getting to know what exactly Microsoft is questioning on the particular exam, YOU SHOULD PASS. :-)

Thanks a ton for all the contributors once again and to the Braindump site buddies.. 4 more to go fo my MCSE...
