Took exam yesterday and wrote a 931.  5 down , 1 to go.  As a NetWare CNE, the normal TCP/IP stuff was not a problem.  It was getting a handle on MicroSoft's spin on it that I had to gear up for.  I used New Riders MCSE Training Guide for TCP/IP and Transcender vers 4 for 70-059. (paid $180 for Transcender, but definately think it was worth it !!) and of course the braindumps !!!
Had 58 questions.
6 or 7 questions on subnetting.  I've seen numerous dumps here suggesting memorizing tables. I've posted the techniques I used to pass both my TCP/IP exams (Novell & Microsoft).  I think it is an easier way to look at subnetting, maybe someone can get something out of it (www.erols.com/dpcssw/Subnet.com).

1 question on using ROUTE command to create static mapping.  It had a bit of spin on it from practice tests I took.  Most of the practice exams had 3 subnets and 2 routers with the subnets clearly identified with the router port addresses.  The one on the test had 4 routers.  The question wanted to know how to add the routes for the middle 2 routers.  The router port addresses were given, but the subnet address was not given.  Basically, had to intuitively know that 198.223.8.2 with subnet mask 255.255.0.0 is subnet 198.223.0.0.  Actually spent more time on this question than any other one.
8-9 questions on utilities (none asking for specific switch settings) - mostly giveaways :
command to display ethernet stats (netstat)
display changes from DHCP (ipconfig /all)
Modify LMHOSTS  (nbtstat)
IP to hardware address resolution (arp)

Definately know difference between WINS and DNS.  Had a few questions along the lines where Bob can FTP to a site, but can not connect to it using explorer (FTP uses DNS, Explorer uses WINS).
1 question a bit tricky on node types.  Bill can't connect to a Windows NT server.
The server is not WINS enabled.  The question displayed a valid LMHOSTS file with a valid entry for the server.  What is the problem ? (w/s is p-node - uses only WINS)

3 or 4 questions on UNIX printing
Send a text file (LPR)
Display print queue (LPQ)
Set up printer on NT Server (TCP/IP Printing Service and share)

1 question on WINS replication presented a bit differently than on practice tests.  Practice tests states Miami pushes to Dallas, Dallas pulls from Miami etc, but the test presented a table showing sites on x axis and PULL PARTNER / PUSH PARTNER filled in the table.

Had 5 or 6 scenario questions.  Used suggestion I saw posted here to set up a table :
R  - required
O1 - option1
O2 - option 2
Filled it in as read through proposed solution.  Came in really handy on last 3 questions which was basically same scenario, (3 optional requirements) and different proposed solutions.

A few questions on DHCP.  Remember one concerning what type option should be used for WINS server (scope).

That is about all I can remember now.  Hope this helps someone.  Keep up the good work on this site !!!
