Passed today after 25 q's. Adaptive is better because Microsoft doesn't waste your time and energy. A bit harder than I thought, but what the hell if you see a green line.

1) Drag and drop question: Three diff subnets, a PDC on one sub, a BDC on another, and a WINS svr on the third. You had to drag and drop the appropriate browser role for each svr on its own subnet. Your choices were domain master browser, master browser, backup browser and non-browser.

2) Your network uses 2 UNIX DNS server to provide name resolution. You can't connect to a web server using a web browser. 1 DNS srv may be providing incorrect info. Which utility verifies info from DNS servers:

domain monitor/tracert/browser monitor/nslookup/netstat

3) Scenario which requirement is name resolution and auto IP leasing. Optional was resolving UNIX host name. You have 4 subnets, each with a PDC. On 3 subnets there are BDC's. How do you configure so that each BDC see the PDC in a non-WINS environment.

4) Scenario where remote users must access all shares on the network and the RAS server must support 2 concurrent connections. Optional data encryption and access to internet via the RAS svr. The solution didn't even come close to satisfying the access to all shares and the 2 concurrent connections.

5) Had a screen capture of a route print. You were given an IP address and how you would get to that IP address based on the route print details presented in the screen capture.

6) You want to transfer confidential files from an NT svr to an NT wkst using FTP. Don't want someone to view your data with a protocol analyzer. Choose 2 RAS on svr/dialup on wkst and PPTP

7) UNIX runs the RSH daemon. You want to execute the command on UNIX box from your NT computer. Choose one FTP/TFTP/Telnet/rsh.exe/rexec.exe

8) The usual MX record in DNS for mail server

9) To see TCP/IP stats in perfmon, install snmp

10) NT wkst is a WINS client. You want to find out how often your system uses broadcasts to resolve names. Choose nbtstat/netstat/tracert/perfmon/nt diagnostics

11) An app on the NT svr stops responding. You want to examine network messages that the app is sending and receiving. Which utility? netstat/netmon/perfmon/pviewer.exe/snmputil.exe

12) RAS server at your company. Configure RAS to connect to internet. Users use sialup ntwking. Want to ensure all data between laptops and company network is encrypted. Choose 2 PPTP and MS-CHAP

13) One question on static routing tables and multihomed computers. You have 2 servers and a router that takes you out to the internet. You have to drag and drop the proper IP addresses and gateways for the routing table on multihomed computer A and multihomed computer B. You do NOT define the static routing table for the router out to the internet.

14) Scenario question on multihomed server where the requirement was tcp/ip routing. Solution didn't say word one about IP forwarding so the answer was that it did not meet the requirement.

Usual questions on being able to PING an ip address in another subnet but cannot do "net use" or browse in explorer.

No subnetting questions.

Best braindumps are still Study Guide, laurence and chili pepper. I used cramsession, braindump heaven, exam cram book and MOC. I found the MOC to be very helpful. I also read Douglas Comer's book on Internetworking with TCP/IP Vol I. The foundation knowledge was invaluable and worth the price of the book.
