Thank GOD, I have passed my NT server 4 exam on Friday 27/2/98. I am grateful to all of you who have made this web site possible and informative.

The test somehow was difficult, but managed to score 909, it’s OK.......

Now it’s my time to contribute, the questions below are not exact wording but they will give you an idea.

1- RAS installed on NT server with the following config. :

What users connecting to RAS can do (i.e. run winsock apps, NetBEUI apps, apps on RAS)?

2- NT server with system partition on C, 3 HDD , you want to implement fault tolerance , which method?

3- ARC with SCSI BIOS enabled , know the format and what files are needed?

4- Your network has three subnets, WS connecting to RAS want to access apps. on other servers, how do you improve the performance (i.e. install lmhost on WS, RAS, or install WINS on RAS)?

5- Your server has 3 HDD with 2 Partitions on each , how do you distribute the pagefiles (i.e. on physical disks, logical disks, increase pagefiles size)?

6- You move 10 WS to another site, how do you add them to the domain and what utilities you use?

7- You configure TCP/IP in a non-routing network, you set-up IP address what else?

8- Netware server and clients, you add NT server with Database app. and Nwlink protocol, what can the clients access?

9- You migrate from Netware to NT what you install on NT server?

10- You server VGA card gone faulty and you replace it with another but not identical, how do you configure it.?

11- What is the Min requirement for Disk Duplexing?

12- Where do you install Tape drive to backup a number of servers and WS, including the local registry of the PDC?

13- 4 HDD with 250MB free space, you implement strip set with parity, what is the max. data size ? (1000MB,750MB..etc).

14- A DOS PC and you want to install NT server 4 , how?

15- Where do you install SNMP to monitor TCP/IP? (i.e. server or WS).

16- You add SCSI and Network card , after starting the server you receive a message " dependency service failed to start"; where do you look for more inf.?

17- You add a HP printer to a pool , when you try to configure the port and the network port does not appear to be there, it is the cause?

18- Where do you set-up new printer spooler directory, printer server properties or printer properties?

19- What counter(s) you us to troubleshoot excessive paging in performance monitor?

20- What happens to apps and disk containing pagefile, when the pagefile surpassed initial size?

21- RAS server and Netware in the same network clients of MSDOS need access to Netware server, what must you install on RAS to allow them access?

22- You want to prevent user except the Admin. group from logon locally, how?

23- How do you change the role of one of the BDC to PDC using NT WS with Network Admin. Tools?

24- If the server which hold the Mandatory roaming profiles, is down can user logon the network from NT WS or not? (check Technet).

25- how do you share a CD device on an NT server using Network Admin. Tools from Win95?

26- How do you recover data if one of you HDDs failed in strip set without parity?

27- IF your network has MS and third party clients accessing RAS, how do you configure the authentication?

28- RAS clients reported that, when they connect to RAS they get disconnected, how do you diagnose the problem?
