Brain dumps- I was prepared for the exam because of above materials, but the brain dumps helped me focus on the things the tests were targeting.

Most of what I saw on my exam I saw here from January Forward! Focus on these!

Things to know:

RAS (from hell)

Knows authentication backward and forward

Your network has MS and third party clients accessing RAS, how do you configure the authentication?

Know what you can and can not do w/ each line protocol

Protocols- know each in depth

Where/when to use LMHOSTS to help resolve NetBIOS naming

Dial-up networking capabilities

Troubleshooting RAS- connection and quick disconnection, how do you diagnose the problem?

• • What users connecting to RAS can do(Winsock applications? NetBEUI applications? Server (local or remote applications)?

Performance Monitor

How to check disk performance for excessive paging (and how to resolve it. RAM!)

What needs to be installed in order to view TCP/IP counters?

Monitoring 10 servers, slowing down machine. (change interval on counters)

Where do you install SNMP to monitor TCP/IP? (i.e. server or WS).
