Subject: Pass Wks and Server

Hello Robert,

I passed wks July 22/98 and server July 23/98. 3 down 3 to go. Never fail once so far.

Status : Self study candidate

Experience: Never. But I am in University studying engineering. That might help to think critically and analytically.

Resource : Exam cram, Transcender and Braindump

Studying time : 3 weeks (both wks and server)

Studying technique: Read exam cram page to page, Do the practice question. Do transcender, study the questions only I did wrong. Asking myself why the answer is wrong, why the answer is right. How the wrong answer would be right and the right answer would be wrong if I change the question. Once I did that never take the exam go back to Exam cram read only the chapter I did wrong at transcender. Go back to Trans. do the exam again. This routine continue until I got transcender over 960 either workstation or server. Finally, I challenge myself; try answer the question without looking at the multiple choice. At the end, I go to braindump. I pick only over 30 questions available site. That save my time; and from that I pick only repetitive question from each site. Spend more time study of them. After I finish exam cram, transcender and braindump, I have 4 days left for exam. Study only microsoft expect you should know it !!!!!

Answering question on exam:

First round: Answer only 100% sure but skip long question either 100 % know them or not. I learn from others saying that long questions are tricky. I had that experience too. e.g.. windiff.exe, workgroup, domain at the scenario question

Second Round: Answer long question 100% sure. Watch the syntax. look the phrase, read backward. pay attention negation (not, un, in) pay attention adverbial clause (but, even though, although, however).The exam is part of language and technical knowledge. e.g. ( what do u do stripe set with parity fail ? a: change the disk but almost the same size.... regenerate...

b: the same brand name but unequal size....regenerate... c: change the disk but equal size.....regenerate.... ) assume the choice is about 4 and 5 line. you see how the word "but" is playing in this scenario.

Third round: answer I know them but I am not sure. use logic, process of elimination, draw the diagram. brake down the problem.

Fourth round: Leave the hardest question at the end. Check the answer of the question already I did. By fourth round I have 45 min. left for server and 35 min. left for wks. between 5 and 7 questions.Now time for relax for 5 min. I went wash room, I walk and take fresh air.

fifth round: I was amazed how the hardest questions I left I almost answering them within 10 min. click END. CONGRATULATION YOU PASS.

What the exam look like :

Server: If I put here I may repeat.... Take your time and look PEPITO, EIGHT, POOL FROM BITHEAD AND MIXED BRAIN DUMP SITE.
