Roberts Dump-o-Rama!

My thoughts:

Know your server. You will not have to study that much (I did maybe 50 hours over 4 weeks), in order to do well on the exam. I found this exam to be much easier than Workstation (744/1000) but a little harder than Network essentials (965/1000)

Apply yourself to using server and the answers will often be obvious to you.

I had seen several questions on the practice exams I did.

There were only 2 questions on the exam that I had no firm idea as to what the answer was:

eg. "What would be available to an IPX RAS connection" choose one

a. Files that the user is assigned permissions

b. Printers that the user is assigned permissions

c. NetBIOS client server apps

d. .... I can't remember, sorry!

I had a few Install questions, most of which could be answered by PROCESS OF ELIMINATION. Setup versus Install versus Winnt versus Winnt32.

Another few PerfMon questions. Play with that bad boy a couple of times and you will be able to beat those questions like they owe you money!

3 or 4 RAS questions. All of which I had seen very similar examples of on the practice exams.

A couple of event viewer q's. Seemed simple enough

One DNS question, one LMHOSTS...

I think that this exam was made a whole lot easier by killing off Workstation previously. A lot (and I do mean a lot) of the questions could be answered very easily by someone EXPERIENCED with workstation (which I most definitely was not when I wrote that

I also think that use of multiple information sources is invaluable. It allows you to LEARN the stuff, not just prepare for an exam. The exam should not be one's goal, it should be nothing more than a benchmark to prove to yourself that you can play with

Thanks again Robert, and good luck to all future quest-takers.
