I just passed my NT Server Exam today & obtained 891. Not too bad.

so I will try to tell what i remember & many thanks to everybody who contribues to that useful site.

Example I didn't see before:

You have 3 hard disks & one C partiton containing system & boot. How do you apply Fault tolerance?

- Mirroring
- Stripe set
- Stripe set with parity using free space from C partition
- stripe set with parity

Answer: Stripe set with paritiy seems to be but you cannot include the system/Boot partition into stripe set w/parity. So it's mirror.

I encountered many (8) questions about Netware. Understand That:
- U need NWLink installed on the NT Server in order to let other NW Clients use Netbios Apps.
- U need gateway for Netware onto NT SRV if U want MS Clients use Netware servers on the same Net.+ don't forget to create a share through Control panel /GSNW!
- RIP srvc for Netware is often proposed but tt is only used with SAP Agent when U have 2 Netcards & need IP/IPX Forwarding.

I encountered many (9) RAS questions & not sure to know all. Learn Encryption data! Most secure is MS-CHAP. If you have a question with an RAS server which has MS NT WKST clients using DES & other not using any encryption; remember that you can only give different securities to different ports, not different securities to the same port!

10 monitoring questions... I hate. U need SMTP on every Server that need to be monitored.

Paging files should ever be shared between all the available disks but the system/boot physical
disk. If you want to increase performance, it is better to create pagefile onto different physical disk; 2 pagefiles on 2 partitions on the same disk use the same way, even if they are into separate partitions! You don't earn anything...

Hosts maps only DNS IP names
LMHosts maps only WINS IP names

Remember how to install Win95 through network. Admin create startup disks... & so on.

Backup questions:

U have 1 NT Server, 5 NT Workstations, 15 Win95. You perform a backup of server every night with registry. You perform a weekly backup of datas from workstations. What is the best solution?
- Install a tape on the server only
- install a tape on one Workstation only
- install a tape on the server & 1 on a Win95 station
- install a tape on a NT wkst & 1 on a Win95 station.

Funny... & NT SRV + NT WKST shouldn't be possible??? Thanks MSN... I answered 3. But...

Replication?
Export stations are ONLY NT members or PDC & BDC.
Import stations are NT Wkst, SRV, LanMan.

And I am still disappointed about MANDATORY Profiles.........yeah.
One guy who was with me was sure that if the server is down & you have a man profile, you inherits the default local profile. My opinion is that it is correct (tried), but Microsoft tells that you cannot logon & I read into previous braindumps that a guy who made 1000 points answered that. So what? I enterred no logon.

Know ARC well. (3 questions!)

That's all & I find a pain that you cannot only learn books, but need to learn questions to pass.
One guy told that the real exam is the day you are thrown out of your bed at 2am 'cause the server is down... that's real life.

Good luck to you all, you'll pass with all that braindumps, not only mine, but all together.
