Subject: My Contribution to Your Excellent Braindumps
Allow me to give y'all a rough breakdown of the 70-067 test I took this morning (945/1000), and to explain how I prepared for this test. First the breakdown:
- Four or five virtual memory and paging questions(giveaways): Which counters to use from performance monitor (pages/sec), where to place and not to place the paging files (avoid physical disk containing the boot partition)
- Five to seven Netware migration/interoperability questions: When to use GSNW, CSNW, and NWLink. Remember that NetWare resource created with GSNW is shared from within GSNW and not from Server Manager or NT Explorer.
- Two or three IPX/SPX frametype questions (When to set frame type manually, and mismatched frame types when IPX/SPX is the network protocol)
- Several fault tolerance questions (giveaways as long as you're alert to situations calling for striping with parity and without.)
- Four RAS questions (this subject was toughest to absorb, relatively speaking, because I get minimal hands-on RAS experience at our small LAN at work.)
- No scenario-type questions at all. This was a surprise.
- No Mac questions. No surprise.
- Several questions about the creation of the NT boot diskette (NOT "diskettes"), its contents, and BOOT.INI's ARC path modifications (giveaways). I found the test questions in this area to be benevolently absurd: fact patterns in later questions answered some earlier questions.
- One question on creating multiple accounts using a template.
- One question on adding NT Workstations to the domain: create computer account, then add the computer.
- No automated install questions. (i.e. sysdiff, UDF, unattend.txt, etc)
- The only group membership question was the quintessential user needing a resource but can't access it. Administrator changes group membership for user. User must logoff and logon for changes to take effect.
- One networked HP printer with the missing DLC protocol at the server.
- One question about optimizing NetBios names look up for NT Workstations connected to the server via PPP running TCP/IP. (LMHOSTS file in each workstation).
- One question on sharing a resource from a Win95 station with the management tools installed (create shares with Server Manager, manage file and printer permissions with Windows Explorer).
And that's about all I can remember. If you read the rest of these braindumps, you won't be surprised at the test.
Study Material For This Exam:
1. Sybex MCSE NT Server 4 Study Guide. I found the text in this guide to be excellent, in contrast to the end-of-chapter questions, which were atrocious. Under no circumstances are you to rely on those simplistic questions as your sole source of practice questions.
2. Transcender exams. I broke down and bought the Transcender questions (ouch! they're expensive!) because Sybex failed with their questions. The Transcender questions were tougher and more relevant to the real test than the Sybex trash. Sybex could have done better. There was no need to force the reader to spend over $100 to buy real questions (unless Sybex owners hold stock in Transcender). And because Sybex + Transcender = Expensive Preparation, I'll avoid Sybex like the plague for the rest of my MCSE preparation. ANY ADVICE FOR EXCHANGE SERVER AND SQL SERVER ADMIN STUDY MATERIAL?
3. MS TechNet. I obtained the 30 days free trial CD from somewhere in the MS web site. It contains the NT4 resource kit material, from which I printed some chapters before the 30 days elapsed. Chapter 5 of the Resource Kit's Resource Guide contained the best, most in-depth explanation of preparing for and performing recovery. Read it to clearly understand the differences between the ERD, the startup disk, and the ARC naming convention.
3. www.cramsession.com. Cramsession.com has a real neat cram outline that I fully read every morning last week. The exact address for the outline is http://www.cramsession.com/mcse/nt4-server/mntscs.html.
4. These Braindumps. I saved the best for last. Kudos to the creators and maintainers of this site. I wouldn't be spending time writing something that I'll never see again had this site not tremendously contributed to my study efforts. I skimmed through all the entries in the 067 area to get an idea of the exam. Then I printed several entries that contained practice questions and answered them all yesterday. Try printing the entries from MARK TWAIN, POOL FROM Bithead, Steve and Onnad. There will be no surprises in the real test if you read the Braindumps. READ AS MANY BRAINDUMPS AS POSSIBLE, BUT STOP READING WHEN THE QUESTIONS AND ASWERS BECOME REPETITIVE.
