NT 70-67 braindump
Passed last week in about 60 minutes, my score wasn't great but enough to become a MCP; 2 down and 4 to go. Use all your time. I could have done better if I had used all the time I was given to check and read carefully the questions I've marked.
Hint for non-English countries: choose the test in English and have 120 minutes instead of 90, because it's not your mother tongue.
This site is really great, thanks Robert !
Also took the MOC courses (Administering and Core Technologies), used its student's workbooks, NT Server Resource Kit (doesn't help so much), Microsoft PEP tests and Transcender trial version. Experience is also important: I've been working with NT Server
Haven't got so much to add to this site, but, anyway, here's my payback:
- Netware:
. know when and where to install GSNW
. NTGATEWAY **group**, not user on NW server
. how to connect to a printer on NW Server
. NT Server w/ NWLink; what user can access? (NETBIOS apps)
. Netware client has to access SQL Server on NT Server (needs only NWLink)
- RAS:
. client using DES; which is the most secure encryption method that can be used on server?
. client using Winsock App; what to do on RAS Server
. gimmie: client get disconnected, how to troubleshoot? edit registry and enable RAS logging
- admin grants permissions to user, but she still can't access resources (have to log off and log on again)
- user promoted to mktg, also member of sales, which has no access to new resource (remove from sales)
- damn! mandatory profile question: I've chosen "user logs on with default user profile", because I've tested at the office and it worked. Although someone said it's a bug, fixed with SP3, I've got SP3 on my NT Server, but I was still able to log on at my
- know what kind of disks and respective clients Net Client Admin can create
- 40 NT Wks machines have to join a domain; how to accomplish the task?
- know the perfmon counters well, mainly memory, disk and excessive paging, 2 or 3 questions
- admin basics: how to build a template user and copy it: many gimmies like this one. Impossible to miss if you know the basics well.
- how to manage printer and file permissions remotely: I've chosen Win Explorer. Use Server Manager to create / manage / stop shares.
- non-routed network, what to else to add after IP addr? (subnet mask)
- which parameter can be set by DHCP (IP addr, subnet mask, def gateway, WINS and DNS)
NT Server "Enterhell" next.
