NT4 Server exam
Passed my NT4 server exam on 30\6\98 with 854 score.Thats allright I guess. It took me about 45 minutes to take it. I dont like comparing apples to oranges (or to bananas, girls or whatever for that matter) but, I really think this exam was quite a lot easier than the WINDOWS 95 exam.
A question I simply didnt know any answer to was this one.(Must be in one of the books! (Minasi for instance)).
You configure a x86 based WINDOWS NT server computer with disk mirroring for the boot partition. The primary disk fails! How should you create a fault-tolerance boot disk that you can use to boot from the mirrored partition.
A Format a floppydisk under DOS. Make no changes to the files on the floppydisk.
B Format a floppydisk under DOS. Make changes to ARC path name in the BOOT.INI file on the floppydisk.
C Format a floppydisk under WINDOWS NT and make no changes to the files on the floppydisk.
D Format a floppydisk under WINDOWS NT. Make changes to ARC path name in the BOOT.INI file on the floppydisk.
* I went with D but Im not sure and I dont think this is right! It might be the B answer but, again Im not sure. Check it out!
Another question in the exam that really confused me was this one.
You have three networks. You administer these networks remotely via Dial Up From your NT Workstation. You want to use autodial to connect automatically to each RAS server, based on UNC or DNS name of a remote resource on the server.
What do you do on your workstation ?
A Install DNS.
B Install nulmodem adapter.
C Configure your workstation with slip.
D Create a phonebook entry for each RAS server you want to use.
E Create a LMHOST file that maps DNS names to IP adresses.
* Answered with the C option, but again this answer is disputable at least.
Almost all of the other questions I got came directly from recent braindumps!
