I just sat the windows NT server 4.0 exam, passed with 854/1000. Study aids

were transcender and trier exams, brain dump heaven (thanks everyone) and an

an NT book by new riders. Highly recommend the transcender exams.

 

Areas covered.

 

2 questions about Alerts - disk space utilization on 4 member servers,

processor usage to a group of admins in a domain.

 

5 NetWare questions, the usual transcender stuff - very straightforward.

 

3 questions about using Windows 95 to remotely administer NT servers know

about the enhanced explorer features for doing file permissions and

printer stuff.

 

Approx. about 10 questions about disk administration - appropriate fault

tolerance method in a variety of situations, ARC naming, and recovery

procedures.

 

3 questions about printers, stopping and restarting the spooler, redirecting

print jobs via a UNC, features of printer pools.

 

2 questions about virtual memory, side effects of a lack of memory (increased

paging). How to remedy excessive paging (add more RAM dear boy).

 

2 questions regarding choosing the appropriate server mode for a given load of

users. 60 users = Balance, etc.

 

2 questions about reports and logs and charts know when to use each type.

 

5 RAS questions. Enabling device.log via the registry, protocol negotiation

(what types of apps can be used when NetBEUI is the chosen protocol),

authentication methods.
