test name: Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0
test # 70-076
I took this test for the first time yesterday and passed it with a score of
854. I used the Transender tests and Cram Exam as my study material along
with the info found here on Braindump. I found over 75 questions in the
Transcender (from test A, B, & C) that were just reworded and on the test in
some fashion. I found that by printing out the transender test questions
and reading the answer explanations provided more info and insite than any
other single piece of study material. Several of the questions were also
found right here on the Braindump pages. I am attaching a list of over 200
questions/answers that I complied from this web site and used it as a last
minute review before taking the exam. Good luck to all who have yet to take
the test.
Your network is configured as a single domain that has three domain
controllers and 25 TN workstations. For security purposes you assign
roaming user profiles to all user accounts in the domain. The profiles are
mandatory. The server on which the profiles area stored fail. What will
happen when users attempt to log on to the domain while the server is shut
down? A: Users will NOT be able to logon when the DC is
down!
You have 3 Win NT Servers with RAS installed on 3 different network
segments. NT workstations dial into the servers. How would you minimize
the time to resolve the NetBios names? A: Install an LMHOSTS file
on each workstation.
You have a mirror set with SCSI disks with BIOS enabled and one disk fails.
How do you setup the ARC path on your boot-disk?
A: Disk (0): system, Data, Data Disk (1): Data, Mirror set, Data
multi(0) disk(0) rdisk(1) partition(2).
You have a network with one NT server, 10 Win95 clients and 5 NT
workstations. Every day you want to back-up the server and once a week you
want to back-up the clients (95 +WS). How do you do that?
A: Put a tape drive on the Server.
You have an NT server that runs IPX, and you have a NetWare client. What
will the client be able to access?

with Network Client administrator, Install using the installation
startup disk.

A: NT member server, NT domain controller.
What happens to file permissions when you use NT Explorer to move files from
one subdirectory to another on the same NTFS partition?
A: All file permissions are retained.
What effect does coping NTFS files to a different directory have on their
permissions? A: Copying causes files to inherit
permissions of the new directory.
You want to prevent all users except members of the administrators group
from logging onto the domain from any of the domain controllers, How?
A: Ensure that only members of the Admin group have the right to logon
locally.

try to dial into the RAS server, they are being disconnected immediately.
How should you diagnose the problem? A: Edit the registry and enable
device logging.
Your network is configured as a single domain named DOMAIN1. The network
has one PDC, two BDC's and two member servers. Some of he network stations
run NT workstation and some run Win95. The directory replicator service on
the PDC is configured as shown in the exhibit. Which computers will receive
replicated files from the PDC? On the exhibit you see the following: a
window named "directory replication on Ntserver1", a "X" in the export
directory to: domain1 A: All the BDC's that are configured to import from
the PDC; All member servers that are configured to import from the PDC; All
NT workstations that are configured to import from the PDC.

her directory but user2 cannot access his directory, why?
A: You must map a drive on user2's WFW computer to his home directory on
the server.
The Research directory is located on an NTFS partition. Permissions for the
Research directory are set as follows: Change for Engineering; Add and Read
for Sales; and NO ACCESS for the Marketing group. Sonya is a member of the
Engineering, Marketing and Sales groups. Why cannot Sonya access the

server also has NWLink installed, for the sole purpose of hosting
connections from NetWare clients. How would you optimize the bindings for
this server?

just the PDC? A:
You need to setup the alert on each NT workstation/server that you want to
send out alerts. This is done via Control Panel, Server, Alerts. Then
choose the machines you want to be notified by the box that is in
trouble. The Alerter service must also be running on the NT
workstation/servers that you want to receive the messages so an alert box
will pop up.
How do you notify a user when their print job is done?
A: Alerter/Messager service must be running on the NT client (Winpopup must
be running on aWin95 or WFW machine). The server that is serving the
