Firstly, thanks to the BrainMasters and to everyone for their time and effort. This site is a great help but you really must not pay too much attention to the answers listed here, unless of course that person has the perfect score.

I passed today in Birmingham, UK, with 88%. I used Exam Cram, Transender and Sybex Study guide (OK but long winded). The test was actually harder than I thought it would be. I didn’t seem to get any ‘one-liner’ questions at all and quite a few of the questions I had never seen before.

Things to pay attention to.

Quite a few examples, questions and answers are wrong in the ‘EXAM CRAM’ book. I have the fifth edition (by which time you’d think they may have got it right!) but even that is wrong. Go to www.examcram.com to get the six pages of updates to that edition to help you. Even then there are some other errors that are not listed (‘Netware server’ is listed instead of ‘NT server’ in a few of the Netware sample questions).

This is also true of the Transender tests, but the mistakes are fewer and far between. There are only two that I am sure of.

VERY IMPORTANT.

Take the test as soon as soon as you feel ready for it (the next day if you can). I left a spare week after studying so I then had time to go through everything again, find the mistakes and then have to re-study so I didn’t confuse myself. Not nice.

Just one question that needs highlighting: -

You want to perform migration from Netware to NT. What must be present on the NT machine before the migration can begin?

  1. FTP
  2. RIP For Nwlink protocol
  3. Gateway Service For Netware
  4. SAP.

I put B although I thought it was wrong, thinking that GSNW was only for Microsoft clients accessing Netware from the NT Server. It turns out that you DO need GSNW for the migration of files to occur. Never seen that before.

That’s it. Off to Hungarian F1 GP now to celebrate!!
