Subject: NT Enterprise Server 70-068

I'm studying for the Enterprise Test and ran across a detail that may help the list out lots. It's in relation to the question:

Your server has 600 people logging in as its primary function, the server is also user mainly as a WINS server, how should you configure the memory settings?

(gives you a crosshair where you need to click on the correct radio button)

A.Minimize Memory Used

B.Balance

C.Maximize throughput for File Sharing

D.Maximize throughput for Network Applications

The correct answer for this question is D! Here's why. The stated server would be a Domain Controller. In order to optimize a Domain Controller, you need to use D. The documentation for this is in the Enterprise MOC, Course 689, Student Workbook, Page 255. The 3rd bullet states: "For a domain controller, click Maximize Throughput for Network Applications" This entire chapter (& course for that matter) are very helpful.

BTW, the course also states that WINS & DHCP servers fall in this same category. That was the other clue in the question above.
