Subject: Exam 70-068
Passed the Enterprise exam on 7/8/98 with a 960. Finished it in 40 minutes. If you take Workstation and Server first, then the exam is fairly easy. Most of the questions are posted in other brain dumps. This cannot be stressed enough--VERIFY ALL ANSWERS!
Tips for the exam:
Understand trusts. If User in Domain A needs to access resources in Domain B then Domain B must trust A. Remember, the trust always points to the domain that contains the user account.
Fault tolerance. Stripe sets, mirror sets, duplexing etc. If you've taken server then this info. is just a repeat.
RAS
Understand what GSNW, CSNW, NWLink allow you to do. Also, what is needed to migrate from Novell to NT. Know that in order for Netware clients to access NT resources you must have either FPNW on the server or a Microsoft redirector on the client. If client is trying to access a client/server app on an NT server then you only need NWLink on server.
Understand how Microsoft wants global and local groups used.
Users go in global groups
Local groups get assigned permissions
Global group goes in local group
Local groups cannot go across domains. So, if you see any answer that uses a local group across a domain, you can immediately rule out that answer.
Scenario questions have a lot of fluff. Don't let that distract you!
Know how share and NTFS permissions work. Remember that when share and NTFS permissions are used the most restrictive will apply.
NO ACCESS -- always overrides all other permissions!! If a user has NO ACCESS or belongs to a group that has NO ACCESS, then user will have NO ACCESS regardless of the other permissions.
Good Luck!!
