Took NTE last week and failed by one q (got 764, takes 784 to pass)!!!!!

In prep for this mutha, I used Sybex NTE book, Technet, braindumps,

sample Transcenders NTE test. Had several packet analysis q's, MANY

senarios with multiple windows (which suck when taking test on a 14"

monitor - raise hell with test admin or call/goto other test sites and

see if they have 17" mons - makes a big difference with these funky

q's). Had no Permon q's. Know your trusts (of course), but also make

sure you know how the intracacies of RIP, Wins proxy, DHCP (not just the

basics), how to configure memory for different loads of user accounts,

how to allow NTWKSTN that is not a member of a domain to access

resources. Spend some time with the utilities from the Server Resource

Kit - had one q re: Response Probe that was not prepared for. I must

say (though I failed "Round One") I am pleased the test was harder than

I expected. MS updating the tests will continue to weed out the paper

MCSE wannabies and help validate the certs in the eyes of IS employers.

I let about a month and a half pass between taking Server and NTE

(holidays can do that to you) - big mistake! Lost a lot of momentum.

Now I am going to crack the books with a vengance and PASS NTE soon.

Just picked up Mastering NT Server 4 by Minasi, I believe this will help

tremendously. Has the entire text on the included CD!
