Subject: Braindump for 70-68

Passed the Enterprise exam with 921! I was happy just to pass! What makes

this exam so difficult is the way Microsoft words their questions. They

are NOT straightforward questions! To pass this test, you not only have to

know the material, but you also have to pay close attention to the DETAIL

of the question and its answers. The questions consist of many scenarios.

You know how the scenario SHOULD be (because you have studied), but if you

read the question closely, there is one word or one sentence that leaves

you thinking "why would anyone in their right minds set anything up this

way?" But that one word or sentence that you skim over may be the

difference in the right or wrong answer! My advice - walk into the exam as

if the person who set up the scenarios had absolutely no idea what they

were doing. Look closely at the scenario to find out what they did wrong

and fix it.

I finished the exam with 20 minutes remaining. I marked 13 questions

(mainly the longer ones) so that I could go back and read them again. Of

these 13 questions, I changed my answer on 2. After reading them again, I

realized I had not read them as carefully as I should have. The second

time, I actually read them backwards to see if I missed anything. On two

of them, I found the glitch and corrected it before I ended the exam -

whew! Finally clicked 'End' with 1 minute, 27 seconds left.

The only thing I can remember that no one else has written about is a

question I had on backups. It was two questions from the same scenario,

but with different solutions. It was the old stand-by backup question

about a Single Master Domain and allowing someone to backup all DC's,

members servers, and workstations in all domains. The first solution had

something to do with assigning the user the BACKUP ALL DOMAIN CONTROLERS,

BACKUP ALL SERVERS, and BACKUP ALL WORKSTATIONS user rights. The other

solution was to create an ALLBACKUP group in the trusted domain, add users,

and add this group to the BACKUP OPS local group in each domain.

A note to anyone who has not taken 70-67 or 70-68 yet - study for them both

at the same time. If you know 70-68, you can pass 70-67.

Good luck - and read EACH question thoroughly!
