NT Enterprise 70-68
Yap, passed Nt Enterprise today, score 921.
I did't find it particularly difficult, 51 questions, mostly about domain and trusts, a couple of NetWare and some RAS and PerfMon. Anyway these are the questions that I remember:
Same old question about brokers dialing in from NT workstation, they basically try to trick you in making you think that with "Any authentication" your password will not be encrypted (which is not true, in fact if you use NTWS to dial in your password will be encrypted anyway).
They also add a security host between modems and RAS Server and ask if this will encrypt data during transmission (obviously not, since the encryption in this case occur only between RAS server and his modems and not between RAS server and workstations dialing in).
Question about Mary who wants to join a domain from her workstation she has Administrator privileges for.
Choices are (choose two):
1. Have a domain admin add her ws to domain with ServerManager(yes)
2. Join from Workstation's Cpanel Network submitting her local Administrator password
3. Same thing submitting domain admin password (yes)
4.Same as first but submitting her local Admin password in Server Manager A couple of questions about a group of users who want privilege of backing up domain controllers and eventually member server and workstations in a single master domain scheme.
The point here is always that you have to create a global group in the master domain and local groups in the resource domains.Give backup and restore rights to local groups and include global group into local groups.
In addition if you want to backup member servers and WS also, you have to put local group into builtin "Backup Operators" local groups of every member server and workstation.
One question about Roaming profile, they do not quite mention the word "roaming" but give a (very) long description of what you have to obtain (that's it: a roaming profile). What do you have to do?
1.Use profile editor to copy each user profile to server
2.Use profile editor to copy each user profile to home dir
3.Use User Manager to specify a path to profile on server (of course)
4. ....Don't remember but as silly as the first two.
In a Master domain model you want to customize logon script for each user:
1.In User Manager Add logon script name and path to home dir
2.In User Manager Add logon script name and copy script in NETLOGON of resouce domain
3.In User Manager Add logon script name and path to one BDC of users domain and add script ro NETLOGON on that server
4.In User Manager Add logon script name and copy script to every user domain controller's NETLOGON (Yes)
You have a File server for 500 users(p133, 32MB RAM, they gotta be jocking) that is responding sluggishly, here you have perfmon data:
Processor 80%
Pages/sec 101
Disk 100%
Server 84364 b/sec
you:
1.Add additional processor
2.Change processor with faster one
3.add 32 MB RAM
4. make a stripe set to increase disk speed.
I chose "Add RAM", I think 101 pages/sec might be too much (even though pages/sec is not the right counter for measuring low mem) and 80% of CPU and 100% of Disk activity migh be generated by intense paging activity.
I'm not sure about this but I think server activity is not that much (84k/sec transferred by server service)to justify such a disk and processor activity. Thus it must be something else like paging activity.
Some questions about stripe set with and without parity.
Just remember that IF IT'S NOT WRITTEN THAN IT'S NOT WITH PARITY. I knew it but I almost got cought on that. Stripe set with parity adds processor load but speeds up read operations. Stripe without does not add cpu cicles and speeds up reads and writes.
Stripe set with parity can save you from a single disk failure (you just change the disk and REGENERATE stripe) but if it's more than one disk than you MUST recuperate from backup.
If your system disk crashes than you have to reinstalla and THEN use backup. You cannot recreate you system disk from backup in you did not previously reinstalled OS.
You want your server not to be involved in browsing activity.
Then you have to write NO in the MaintainServerLinst registry key.
Your server will be neverthelles registered as a domain resource and appear in the browse list.
Well, all the other question that I can remember are on other dumps,I gotta go now.
Work Well,be good
