Passed the NT Enterprise 4.0 exam today with a low 804. That means I

barely made the minimum by one question. This was probably because I

only study 2 days after my server exam for this test.

Whew, but I'm glad I passed on my first try.

This was a really tough test, all the other exams I took got over 900.

But let me thank everyone on this site for all the help they've

contributed. I will do my little part now.

Trust Relationship:

If you haven't heard it from other people's comment about trust

relationship on the test, believe me now it will be on the test. At

least 30% of the test is based on trust.

example:

1) Domain a trust domain b. Carol logs on to domain b using domain a's

computer, what will she be able to access in domain b?

Optimizing performances:

There are quite a few perfomances question on this exam. But not any

simple one like the NT server or workstation.

example:

1) exhibit:

% process time 80%

pages/sec 100.13

disk usage 100%

what should you upgrade: memory, cpu, or disk. Pick only one choice. I

guessed memory, but probably got it wrong.

2) filtering network packets. You want to capture all network packets.

What is the correct way of command line:

a) protocol == smb

b) protocol == dhcp

c) protocol == networl

d) don't remember.

Troubleshooting

Definitely know your Raid level if you haven't already know it by now.

Raid 1 is Disk mirroing: it is the only fault tolerance method besides

disk duplexing for boot or system partition.

Raid 5 stripping with parity: need at least 3 hard disks, maximum of 32

disks. It is fault tolerance but require more cpu overhead than others.

Stripping without parity: NOT A FAULT TOLERANCE method. Requires only 2

disks and faster than any other raid method.

Example 1:

If your company require you to put a fault tolearance method into the

server that will protect the boot partition, which method?

Disk mirroing only.

Example 2:

If your company require you to put the fastest disk read performance.

No fault tolerance mentioned.

Disk stripping without parity.

Example 3:

If your server crashed and two of the hard drive in the disk stripping

with parity failed. How can you get the disk stripping with parity online

and recover the data.

Replace the two disk, choose regenerate in the fault tolerance's menu.

Then RESTORE THE DATA FROM BACK UP because 2 disk failed, if it is just

one the data could be recovered from the parity disks.

Domain models:

You've got to know this too. Know PDC, BDC and memeber server and how

to install them, demote them and so on. Know single master domain,

multiple and compete trust model.

One last suggestion. Try to use as many sample test on the web as you

can find. Transcender is the best.

That's all for now, if I remember anymore, I'll post it.
