Supporting NT Server 4.0 in the Enterprise 70-68

Ok three down three to go, wrote 70-68 on 18 Dec 1998 scored a 941. I

used the Microsoft self paced study books and Cybex exam notes.

Cramsession has a good site and some practice tests that are real good.

The practice tests are from Dan Creagan on the cramsession site. There

is plenty of time for this test, I finished in 40 minutes and browsed

through for another 15. By the way I have to mailorder all my books and

the cheapest place yet is at www.bookpool.com, so save some money.

1. Know the trust, and it's only a matter of understanding that there

are Users and Resources, remmeber the arrow points to the trusted or

users.

2. Disk management, know it, difference between stripe set with and

without parity, you have to know the effects on the system when using

these.

3. Yancy's dumps are real good, mainly because there are no answers for

you. A lot of the answers in the dumps are wrong, big time. Make sure

you know the answer and why it is the answer.

4. Make sure you know how to monitor your system and how to create

performance baselines. Know the tools to gather data and analyze data.

Remember that the Response Probe is only for loading your system to

simulate traffic or a situation. Excell, Access ect can be used for the

analysis process along with performance monitor.

5. Know permissions, if you have taken server and workstation you

should have a good handle on this. Remember this, there if a difference

in permissions when connecting to the share from across the network and

from a local machine (where the share is located). Easy way to remember

is SHARE/MOST, LOCAL/LEAST. As in most and least restrictive. However

Noaccess is Noaccess. If they dont say how you are connecting then you

are connecting via the network (remotely).

6. Dont get confused with the fluff in a question, if you are then draw

the scenario out on paper, this will help you understand the logistics

of the question.

7. For Ras the key to remember is that if you use "use any

authentication including clear text" and you are running NT and W95 and

NT Workstations, they automatically use the MS-CHAP and the password

will be encrypted.

8. Know the domain models, remember any time you are over 40,000 users

you will have to have a Multiple Master Domain according to Microsoft.

Know what the differences in management of the different domains are.

9. Dont worry about this exam, if you have studied well for Server you

are already 80% there, use the dumps but be carefull of the answers,

Know the concepts. You have plenty of time in this test. Just practice

reading the long scenario type questions in order to get used to them.

Good Luck
