Windows NT4 Enterprise - 70-068

Well, I just passed with an 842. I have to be honest here. This was a hard test (at least for me). The reason why I say this is because of the huge amount of Scenario questions and the questions that are a full page long and the actual question is the

They try to get you thinking too much sometimes by adding tons of useless info to the question, when the actual question is like 4 words...be careful please. There are many of these.

Ok...on to what I remember. Since there are SOOOOO many Braindumps with questions that you know you're going to get, let me just tell you the ideas I remember...

1. Scenario Questions:

A. Field Engineers are dialing into your RAS server. They are using NT WS4. Question is about authentication choices. There were two of these. One was use Any Authentication with the Hardware Security in the middle, and the other one was use MS-CHAP.

B. Printing question. 3 departments. One department prints 1-10 pages, another prints 1-10 pages, and the last one prints 50-100 pages. Department 1 needs to have priority over the rest, next comes Department 2, and Department 3's jobs aren't that imp

C. 6 Domains. (Actually, this one is right from Transcender). They give some useless info on the Exhibit. They show you 56K WAN links and T1 WAN links. They mean nothing. The idea is setting up trusts here. They show you that one domain is the Mast

D. The second question in this series has the same story as the above question, but they propose to place BDC's at the resource locations. This makes all the difference in the question, because even though the trusts are one-way, in order to have the BDC

E. The 2 questions about Backing Up the Domains is there. They both state that we have 3 domains that need to be backed up. Both have domains having Controllers, Member Servers, and Workstations. Both say to create a Global Group in the Master and plac

2. Policies

- What do you name them?

- Where do you put them?

- One question on if you had 3 Groups with members that are members of each group (ex. Group A=Joe, Jim, Peter : Group 2=Peter, Joe, Fred : Group 3=Fred, Joe, Jim)

How would you handle figuring out what policy Joe falls under if the policies for the groups are different?

3. Troubleshooting

- For some reason, this was hit hard on my test.

- Know Perfmon very well

- Know the basics of Filtering in Network Monitor

- Perfmon Scenario questions: This counter says this, that counter says that, the other counter says something else. What system component should you change or upgrade by these stats?

4. Disk Administration

- Three or four questions on Fault Tolerance

- Know Raid 5 well

- Be familiar with the Disk Administrator Menu Options

5. Synchronization

- Know Pulse, Pulse Concurrency, and Governor

- Know how to reduce WAN traffic by using them

6. RAS

- Nothing on RAS except the Scenario questions with the Field Engineers

7. Rights and Auditing

- Be familiar with System Rights and how to grant them

- Know what the Auditing Choices mean. I had 3 questions on auditing

8. Server

- One question on what server setting to use in a situation. (Balance, Minimum, File Sharing, Network Application)

9. Trusts, Trusts, Trusts

- If you don't know trusts like the back of your hand, you will fail. Plain and simple.

- Know that the arrow ALWAYS points to the TRUSTED Domain. There was a question that was wonderfully worded, and explained perfectly, but the Exhibit was wrong. The only thing that was incorrect was the Trust Arrow. It was pointing the wrong way. Pleas

- Know what you can access if you're a User from DomainA and you log into DomainB. There are TWO questions like this. One states that the Guest Accounts have been disabled. The other one doesn't. Make sure you watch for which way the Trust is pointing

- Know that Global groups can cross trusts and Local groups CAN'T.

- Man...just know trusts so well, you DREAM about them.

This is all I can remember right now; the test took the life out of me. I think I aged 40 years. If you study well, you'll do fine.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. And if ANY part of this Dump in incorrect, please let me know; the last thing I want is to give out invalid help.

Peace and Good Luck,

-Ron
