Test: Exam 70-087 IIS 4

Taken: 12/30/98

Score: 872

I took the exam 2 weeks ago and got a 672. If I had found this site before the last test I would have passed the first time. Many thanks to all contributors.

The questions are the same. See Microman and the compilation for most complete braindumps. Fortunately, I DIDN'T get the Where are the SMTP default settings stored . I looked all over and found some resources that said the Metabase and others that said the Registry. I would've picked the Metabase since I found an obscure reference to updating SMTP settings in the metabase.  The 3 ODBC errors were included, as were many of the others from this site. Just research so you get the right answers, not just the right questions.

The best MMC simulation software I found was from Self Test Software which was sent to me by the Global Networks (where I took the course). I found the simulations fairly easy, but I still messed up a couple.

You have to really know permissions for running applications, ISAPI, CGI, Perl (need an interpreter) and make sure users have permissions in NTFS as well as IIS.

Be prepared for some really dumb situations and what to do about them. One that I got was you have an IIS server with several Web sites using Host Headers, you just changed from HOST files to DNS AND you changed the IIS Server IP address. Some users cant get to some WEB sites. What to do ?

The answer I chose was update Host names on DNS Server.

Good Luck,

Bill H.
