Materials I used to study:  CTEC Course for IIS4, Accelarated MCSE for IIS4 book, Exam Cram for IIS4 book, Transcender Tests for IIS4, IIS4 installed on my PC, and the Brain Dumps.

There are really no worthy books available on the subject on IIS4 exam preparation.  Kind of hard to believe since this product has been out for a few months.  Lots of books, but none are good sources for studying for the exam.  The best way to learn IIS4 is to install it and play with it and do exercises from books.

Stuff to be sharp on...

1) Know how to set up TCP ports and Security in IIS for WEB sites and FTPs.

2) Know ODBC error especially on the SQL side.

3) Know that you need execute for script access.

4) Know a lot about virtual directory and remote virtual directory(You need the user name and password for remote)

5) Know how to tune up the IIS using information from diagnostics tools from perfomance monitor and also CONTENT ANALYZER.

6) Review the WINS, DNS, LMHOST, and HOST files.

7) Know how to restric access using DNS and IP address as well as subnetting for a group of users.

8) Know how to log to file and it is faster than log to SQL server.

9) Know about Index Server.

10) Use transcender for IIS 4 if you have access.

11) Don't take this exam as a joke even though it only require 727.

*Nothing on there for the Transaction server.

I obtained my MCSE with this one.  Now on to MCSD.
