Passed IIS4 yesterday (6 January, 1999). Thats 6 out of 6 and a MCSE (passed all of them the first time). Before I give my comments all I want to say is To God all the glory. The exam was real hard. Get option pack 4 and install that and play around with it. Make sure you know how to use MMC (got 9 of them). The simulations was not too difficult (get a lot of mmc experience then it will be easy). Make sure you know the ODBC errors (got 3 of them). Know NNTP, SMTP, FTP, WWW, Anonymous users vs. type of authentication, CGI, ISASP (permissions), ASP , performance tuning(on all of the snap-ins on mmc) and permissions well. Know which restrictions belong where. MMC restrictions vs. NTFS (Most restrictive take preference). The questions on Patric de Boers web site were spot on. Make sure youve got the correct answers for them. 80% of that questions was the same in the exam. The books I have used was not that much of a help. Read through the on line documentation which come with option pack (that helped a lot).
Thanks to all who contributed.
