Exam 70-087 Implementing and Supporting Internet Information Server 4.0
I passed my IIS 4.0 exam today to add MCP+I to my certifications along with my MCSE. Only the IE 4.0 exam left for my MCSE+I.
The dumps here for IIS contain good info. on the questions and the simmulations (check answers for yourself though) . What I can add is what I experienced on the simmulation questions.
The MMC in the simmulations is not the same as the real one that is used to
administor IIS in NT, I will explain...
After doing a few of the simmulations I realized that when I finished what I was supposed to do, I went back to the action menu and the start command was selectable and the stop was grayed out. This confused me a bit because when viewing the FTP site in the MMC it did not display that the site was "(stopped)". I decided to select start in the action menu (right or wrong I don't know). I went back to the action menu and start was now grayed out and stop was the valid option. I don't know what the deal is with this, if it is a thing MS is trying to trick us whith or what? All I was supposed to do was change the FTP site from listing in DOS to listing in UNIX. When I did this at home on the real MMC I never had the FTP site display "(stopped)" or had it need to be restarted.
Another difference was that when I had to create new sites, the sites never displayed "(stopped)" in the MMC simmulation ( trick or bug, you decide). The real MMC will show the site as "(stopped)" after you create it. Again I don't know if this is a trick or what, but you still need to start them when you do simmulations in the test.
As stated on another dump here, if you go back to a simmulation question a display box gives you the option to do the simmulation over again or leave it alone. If you do it again you have to do everything over (which is no big deal), because what you did before is null and void. I had to do this for my first few because I needed to check the start command listed in the action menu, good thing I did too.
Also, It is interesting how the exam has several ODBC error questions which never even show up in the MS official self paced training, this book was still good though along with the Proxy study guide that comes with it (I passed Proxy 2.0 exam in the first shot too).
Well I can't say how well I did I the simmulations but I just know I passed with plenty of room to spare. I hope this gives everyone a little more insight on the simmulation questions.
Thanks,
AKA Zippy
